Jim Doherty
Jim Doherty is President & Chief Executive Officer.
Jim is responsible for leading the organization’s strategic direction, setting and synching short, medium
and long-term goals for the Company. Jim joined Farmers of Salem in 1992 as Controller/Assistant
Treasurer, becoming Controller/Treasurer the following year and Vice President/Treasurer in 1995. He
assumed the role of Senior Vice President/Treasurer in 2008 and was appointed to his current position as
President & CEO in 2014.
Prior to joining Farmers, Mr. Doherty worked in the accounting departments of Consolidated Insurance
Group and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware and his Master
of Business Administration from Widener University. He holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
designation and the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) designation.
